One of the things I love since having my own label is being made aware of so many other people creating beautiful handmade clothing. Nadinoo make such gorgeous dresses and I bought one for my Christmas present to myself. I think so much about the cost and work that goes into making clothing and I feel so pleased to be able to save up myself to spend money on items that are made by individuals or small labels where nobody is being screwed over in the process. If you know any other handmade clothing/accessories/homeware (anything!) that you think might interest me do share. I love to snoop at other peoples makings.

Love the dress!! The collar is amazing, like little petals. Ps. I don't think you look that awkward.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, I'm learning to be in front of the camera, but I much prefer being behind it! The collar is so gorgeous such an effective idea.
DeleteSuch a pretty post! Just wondering, where did you get your backpack? It's adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alyssa - I actually got this backpack on holiday in Spain from a little leather shop, it's such a great size, I take it everywhere with me.
DeleteNadinoo make the sweetest clothes. This dress is beautiful and I especially love the detail in the collar. x
ReplyDeleteI know it's the little details that make it so special!
DeleteBeautiful dress, beautiful styling and beautiful photography <3 x
ReplyDeleteToo kind Crystal! But thanks so much :)
DeleteI think there are plenty of sweat shops happening in the independent market. Items may even seem expensive - too expensive to afford even but there are very few that cost the actual hours, cost of materials that go into an item. Just look on etsy and you can see beautiful work going for a song too. The prices are virtually the same as the high street or even cheaper. People want handmade but very few people can afford it or understand it. I can't often afford Primark to be honest. So I buy charity shop or make my own.
ReplyDeleteI agree, charity shops and making your own is a wonderful way to make sure you get clothing where you know the origin and you get some really individual pieces. I buy most of my clothing second hand to save money and then can save up to buy some really special handmade pieces from small designers and makers :)
Deletep.s, Re 'you don't look *that* awkward'. You don't look awkward at all! You look lovely - very pretty as well.
