I think these photos were actually taken at the end of last summer. My sister and I catching some final summer rays in the garden. This is one of my favourite tops and I wear it all the time (I'm wearing it today even), it's organic cotton and I'm tempted to buy loads even though I don't need to.

I thought I'd lost this film as I opened the back of my camera when it hadn't finished being wound on. Then I just thought I may as well get it developed and it turns out all the pictures are there in tacked, which is nice.
We went to the Netherlands back in April and these photos where taken on a sunny afternoon in Amsterdam. We stopped off for lunch in a pretty little cafe and then had a beer in the park. I fell a bit in love with Nether-Netherlands.

These photos where taken at my grandpa's house, an unusual pink cottage in the suburbs opposite a church and an old school. I like the chalky pink colour and it matches my coat perfectly. It's from a vintage shop and made from a Welsh blanket. When I'm not wearing it I like to have it draping over my lap like an old lady.
Also, what makes a cottage a cottage? Now I've said cottage too much and the word doesn't seem real.

One of the things I love since having my own label is being made aware of so many other people creating beautiful handmade clothing. Nadinoo make such gorgeous dresses and I bought one for my Christmas present to myself. I think so much about the cost and work that goes into making clothing and I feel so pleased to be able to save up myself to spend money on items that are made by individuals or small labels where nobody is being screwed over in the process. If you know any other handmade clothing/accessories/homeware (anything!) that you think might interest me do share. I love to snoop at other peoples makings.

I've been putting together some outfits featuring dresses from my Quite Contrary collection that I launched last AW. So here are some ideas if this change in weather has taken you all unawares like.
The Foxglove dress styled with knee high socks and brogues / The Poppy dress with a charity shop jumper and some knitting. I'd probably pair both outfits with a pair of high high denier black tights and a big wooly cardy - but that's just what I wear most (all) of the time.

Hello friends. Things have been pretty hectic and then pretty relaxing and now they will just be back to the normal hectic/relaxing ratio. It was my sister's wedding last weekend and then we had our annual family trip to Cornwall which we've been doing since the beginning of time I think.
I thought about taking my sewing machine and trying to do work but instead I decided it would be a good time to book it in for a service - the poor thing was making some rather weird noises. So I have had a lovely few days away from internet and phone signal and I feel so excited to start working again.
These photos were taken way back in May I think. I thought I'd take them on a rare sunny day when summer was just beginning. It has now been hot for a ridiculous 10 days (at least) in a row and I'm not quite sure what to do with myself, so I chopped off all my hair today. It made me think of this.
English summer when you are good you are the best. Here's to sunny days and home haircuts.

This is a field on the way out of our village. In the evening it gets the most amazing light. I'm so happy summer seems to have arrived, we didn't have one last year, so the feeling of sun on the skin is something rather magical.
I treated myself to about five things in this floral print from American Apparel for my birthday. I know it's cliche summery to go all floral but I love it anyway. I realised looking back at these photos that it looks so silly to have these short/pant things pulled up over my trousers. I'm just terrified of having a builders bum. Oh well, I'd rather a strip of undies than a flash of butt crack.

How does your garden grow? This is the first dress I made for myself after my good intentions to make myself more clothes. It's not gone too well as this one is still unfinished and I have now got a part time job as well as sewing orders to get them out on time.
I don't mind that I don't make myself that much clothing as I get a nice amount of satisfaction knowing other people are wearing it. But still, now summer has arrived I will be making myself a swimming costume (fingers crossed).
The table in our bedroom has become a growing station. It's like a little green house in the window so it's the perfect spot to start off our plants. All these pots are nasturtiums that I'm growing to have on the tables at my sisters wedding. They've shot up since these photos and the table is now a mass of green. My windows need a good cleaning.
