I bought this fabric about a year ago as soon as I saw it as it's just really something spesh. I made myself a smock dress and then forgot to add it to my shop. I think I was enjoying actually wearing something I'd made for myself, which I'm pretty bad at most of the time.
Anyway, it's a fav so I've added it to the shop. You can get it for the rest of today for 90 squid, but tomorrow it'll be going up to £120. So act fast if you fancy paying less for things. Here I am modelling the dress for your eyes whilst in my slippers and having a cupper and accidentally looking stroppy.
You can buy the dress in my shop here or Etsy here. Or just drop me an email on hello{at}isabelknowles{dot}com and I'll send you an invoice direct.
PS: I hope everyone's been having a good 2015 - sorry I've been away for so long. As usual no good excuses. I wonder if there's anyone out there...

Bridesmaids In Blue
Monday, 22 September 2014
I made these lovely ladies bridesmaids dresses for a wedding back in May. This summer I've had a lots of interest in bridesmaids dresses and it's been such a pleasure chatting to brides about what they want and sourcing fabric etc. If you are looking for something special for your special day then do get in touch!
Bridesmaids Dresses
Friday, 4 October 2013
Back in July my lovely big sister got married. I was in charge of doing bridesmaid's dresses - and also a lot of planning everything else cos she's a proper doctor person. Oh what a wonderful day it was. I was in floods of tears during the
speeches - perhaps too much cider and not enough sleep to blame, I was
sewing til 2am the night before. Here are some photos from the day of the lovely bridesmaids and some other colourful bits.
The fabric I used was from Stone Fabrics in Totnes. They have an amazing selection of stunning fabrics and the staff are so lovely. I'm so pleased with the way all the dresses looked in the end - although on the day I was sort of sick of the sight of them - I haven't actually got a picture of us all together, but they were all different cuts and shapes, some with sleeves, long skirts, short skirts, low backs and all that jazz.
It was a hot English summers day and the flowers where vibrant and the fit was comfortable. Can't say so much for the sweaty men in their tweed.

How does your garden grow? This is the first dress I made for myself after my good intentions to make myself more clothes. It's not gone too well as this one is still unfinished and I have now got a part time job as well as sewing orders to get them out on time.
I don't mind that I don't make myself that much clothing as I get a nice amount of satisfaction knowing other people are wearing it. But still, now summer has arrived I will be making myself a swimming costume (fingers crossed).
The table in our bedroom has become a growing station. It's like a little green house in the window so it's the perfect spot to start off our plants. All these pots are nasturtiums that I'm growing to have on the tables at my sisters wedding. They've shot up since these photos and the table is now a mass of green. My windows need a good cleaning.
Selfish Sewing
Wednesday, 1 May 2013
I do a lot of sewing, obviously, but I actually rarely make something for myself. So, inspired by 'Me-Made-May', The Great British Sewing Bee, and lovely Tilly, I'm feeling the need to sew more selfish things and to ruddy wear them too. My friend Beci just gave me a bunch of old sewing patterns that came out of her aunts attic. There are some proper 70s/80s corkers in there.
Also, the light is so nice in my studio in the evening I have no excuse not to sit and sew in the sun. Is anyone else feeling inspired by this lovely springtime weather?
